Full restoration can include:
- Removal of windows and hardware and, if necessary, installation of plastic or plywood for the duration of restoration.
- Removal of old glazing, glass, and stripping paint on inside and outside of sash.
- Removal of glazing and paint from antique glass and cleaning for reinstallation in restored sash.
- Sanding and repair of wood sash, including treatment with wood preservative and filler for weathered sash parts.
- Priming of inside and outside of window sash.
- Removal of paint from and polishing of hardware.
- Pulley system repair.
- Reinstallation of glass and reglazing, with bedding glazing to reduce air infiltration.
- Two coats of paint inside and out.
- Reinstallation of windows and hardware with new sash cords and, if necessary, new parting strips and window stops.
